Gangasagar is an island at the mouth of the river Ganges
where the Ganges meets the Indian ocean.
The people of India consider this place very holy
because as it was described in the mythological history
of Kapila Mouni.
That is why, almost every year, Sri Yukteshwarjee used
to attend this Gangasagar Mela
For Sriyukteswarjee the Gangasagar festival was always
eventful. Sriyukteswarjee found Prabhujee at Gangasagar
Mela. And once Sriyuktreswarjee went in the ocean on a
local row-boat (Nauka) which was decorated with the
words maha jana yeana gatah sah panthah and khyana miha
satjana sangati reka / a moments good company will
enable a human being to cross the worldly ocean. It was
here that Sriyuktewarjee was inspired to create the
kriya yoga logo of the two petaled lotus above a boat
Kriya Yoga Ashram, Shree Dham
Gangasagar.
